Artists in Schools Grant Program open -- online application, Cultural Data Project profile The California Arts Council announces that the application is now available for the 2009-10 Artists in Schools program. Artists in Schools is designed to support artists in residency activities that take place in schools, both in the classroom and in after-school settings. Final application and supplementary materials -- including a California Cultural Data Project (California CDP) profile -- are due on March 6, 2009. Happy Holidays from the California Arts Council - begin the new year with "Creating Public Value" or "Artists in Schools" It's the end of 2008, and the California Arts Council can claim quite a few accomplishments for the year -- quality programs ... unique public-awareness projects involving hundreds of California artists ... and new online functions including a redesigned eNewsletter, important content about arts opportunities and information, and an updated application process through the California Cultural Data Project. We have a New Year's resolution suggestion for many California ArtBeat readers who work for arts nonprofits in California: apply for the Creating Public Value or Artists in Schools programs! Both applications are open, and the deadlines are January 23 and March 6, respectively. And if the programs aren't quite right for your organization, still fill out a California Cultural Data Project profile and take a look at the California CDP's sponsors to see if there are other funding resources. Or use the reports after completing a profile to show potential board members, corporate funders, and individuals interested in your organization. Our thanks to you And finally, we'd like to thank all the hardworking, imaginative people who make California such a unique and creative place to live. California artists, art lovers and creative professionals and teachers are at the heart of what makes this state such a fantastic place to live. We salute you and the good work you do.
