The Check Off the Arts campaign is again in full swing and making the push for a big April response from California taxpayers. And we have an extra day this year to do it--the tax return deadline is Monday, April 16. Thanks to those who helped in the past. Can you contribute this year? Can you help get out the word again?
New ADA Regulations: Is Your Arts Venue in Compliance?
In 2010, the U.S. Department of Justice added language regarding ticketing to the regulations for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These new regulations are now enforceable. The new ticketing regulations are composed of eight sections. Section five specifically regulates the hold and release of wheelchair-accessible locations. Want to find out more?
Two California Groups Selected for "American Music Abroad"
Two of the twelve ensembles selected to be part of the American Music Abroad program are California groups: Audiopharmacy (Hip Hop/Dub, San Francisco Bay Area) and Real Vocal String Quartet (Classical/World Strings, Berkeley). Funded by the US Department of State and American Voices, the groups will tour overseas from May 2012 - May 2013.
