Arts Council Presents at State Budget Hearing

On April 8th, California Arts Council Director Craig Watson spoke before the California State Assembly Budget Subcommittee Number Four. The committee invited Watson to provide an informational overview of the California Arts Council agency operations and budget. Arts Funding Update: Senate Bill 1432

SB 1432 (Lieu), a bill proposing a partial restoration of the California Arts Council budget, passed out of the Governmental Organization Committee 6-3 on Tuesday, April 8. Next stop: the Appropriations Committee. This bill would continuously appropriate the sum of $25M annually from the General Fund to the Arts Council to be used for grants.
