NEA awards $5.2 million to support arts and innovation in CAThe National Endowment for the Arts has awarded nearly $5.2 million to California arts organizations in its second round of funding for fiscal year 2018. Federal dollars totaling $5,193,800 will benefit 144 grantees up and down the state. The spring announcement includes the NEA's annual partnership with the California Arts Council as well as jurisdictional and regional arts agencies, and the categories of Art Works, Creativity Connects, Our Town, and Research: Art Works. ACTA announces two 2019 funding opportunitiesThe Alliance for California Traditional Arts, California Arts Council's partner for folk and traditional arts, has announced the opening of two grant programs for 2019. The Apprenticeship Program offers $3,000 contracts to California artists and culture bearers for six to 12 months of intensive one-on-one training in a specific art discipline; the Living Cultures Grants Program provides support of up to $5,000 for traditional arts projects demonstrating impact on cultural communities.
