New report makes case for STEAM over STEMThe National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine has released a report addressing the benefits of incorporating the arts and humanities into STEM fields of study at the secondary education level. Results of the study suggest that arts integration aids in workforce readiness, life enrichment, and increased community engagement. The report is sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Scientists and Engineers for the Future Fund of the National Academies’ Presidents’ Committee.
