Save the date: Our grants open in November

Mark your calendars: California's arts grant season is on its way. The California Arts Council is prioritizing this year's grant funding to nurture and heal our communities through the arts; to keep the doors of our arts and cultural institutions open; to protect jobs in the creative field; and to preserve our cultural heritage, our stories, and our culture bearers. These grants feature NEW funding, including general operating support for organizations and fellowships to support the creative practice of individual artists, as well as continued support for project-based activities. Get a sneak preview of our 2021 program offerings here - and stay tuned for more details prior to our season launch, coming this November.

Arts in Corrections: Training Organizations RFP

The California Arts Council is currently accepting proposals from organizations interested in providing training to current Arts in Corrections Coordinating Organizations in the areas of healing-centered best practices, race and equity, restorative and transformative justice, and strategic partnerships. In a conscious effort to simplify the submission process and increase access, equity, and inclusion among interested organizations, the RFP includes plain-language templated forms, instructions, and an informational webinar for submission guidance. Submissions are due on or before October 30.

Disaster relief resources for artists & communities

Our hearts are with all those affected by the wildfires currently burning throughout California. The CAC maintains a webpage dedicated to resources for our state's artists and arts organizations impacted by loss or damage in the aftermath of natural disasters. For more information, visit www.arts.ca.gov/resources/recovery.

Californians for the Arts COVID-19 Impact Survey

Californians for the Arts is gathering information about the financial and human impacts of Covid-19 on California's creative individuals and organizations. View and complete the surveys for artists and arts businesses at https://www.californiansforthearts.org.

California State Library Collections Protection Survey

California is home to one of the most diverse and expansive cultural collections in the world. Help protect these priceless assets by completing the California Cultural Collections Protection Survey. If your organization collects culturally significant items, register for the survey today at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSLSurveyRegistration. Spread the word to other colleagues and organizations across the state to help the California State Library reach as many collecting entities as possible.
